NCCAOM Lapsed Status Policy Change
Reduced from 8 years to 3 years as of January 1, 2013
The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®) has a major policy change which will be implemented on January 1, 2013 and will affect former NCCAOM Diplomates currently in lapsed status. We would appreciate your reviewing the policy information with your faculty and staff as well as distributing the information to all students who graduated between 2005 and 2011.
The number of years a former Diplomate may remain in lapsed status is changing from 8 years to 3 years. Individuals that have been in lapsed status for more than 3 years will be automatically moved to terminated status effective January 1, 2013.
All individuals in terminated status must reapply for certification and take a reassessment examination.
Visit the NCCAOM Website frequently to keep abreast of changing policies and procedures which may occur.
