Licensure Facts

After completing the acupuncture and herbal medicine program at THSU, students are eligible to apply for a license in Texas after passing the national board exams at NCBAHM.

Admissions Requirements

  • Minimum 2.0 GP
  • 60 College Credits
    • From an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (equivalency transcript evaluation to determine this for foreign transcripts).
    • 36 of the 60 in General Education and credits in Humanities, Math & Sciences, and Social Sciences (at least one course in each field) – Learn more.

Graduation Requirements

  • Complete 155 credits
    • Acupuncture and Related Didactic Studies: 49 Credits
    • Biomedical Didactic Studies (Western Medical Science): 35 Credits
    • Herbal Didactic Studies: 31 Credits
    • Clinical Training: 32 Credits
    • Ethics, Business, and Communication Didactic Studies: 8 Credits
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Complete the program within 15 attempted trimesters
