The Medical Records and Transcription Associates

The Medical Records and Transcription Associates work as members of a production team who produces medically-related litigation support documents. In addition, they produce a summary of medical records and work with physicians, medical experts, and transcriptionists/Scribes to create a comprehensive medical record summary. Daily activities consist of working within the company’s proprietary software.  

To be considered, candidates must be ready to work in a fast-paced environment and be adept at multitasking and managing multiple projects at the same time. Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, excellent proofreading skills, a good attitude, a strong work ethic, and a firm commitment to deadlines are prerequisites. This position requires seven to eight hours per day of prolonged sitting.

Job Requirements

  • Produce quality record summaries under the direction of associate experts.
  • Work to ensure record summary compliance with company formatting and content guidelines.
  • Meet and/or exceed established company performance metrics.
  • Monitor the receipt of medical and billing records produced for purposes of expert legal reports.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency with the use of the company’s proprietary software.
  • Perform quality assurance of record summaries to verify quality, content, and formatting accuracy.
  • Provide constructive input to continuously improve processes, procedures, and team efficiencies within the company’s proprietary software.
  • Build and maintain a professional relationship with all 3rd party vendors by providing timely and professional feedback.
  • Assist in the overflow of work from the Deposition & Transcription team, including but not limited to: ancillary report quality assurance, 3rd party vendor invoice review, and approval and production of dictation transcriptions.
  • Promote and maintain positive and professional interdepartmental and expert communication to effectively meet deadlines and ensure quality reports.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
